This show’s the current status of the Small Crusaders Webring, covering the areas of a tabular queue of who has been invited or independently requested to join, and at what stage along they are.
There is a double jam due to sending the initial invitations from hotmail, the largest repository of junkmail in the known universe, and this the most likely to be blocked, and also a rewriting of standard invitations is in progress (’quite near the end, now).
Requests for information of any new members is popular, so with this page I can cut my email traffic. Please note this page is now stunningly out of date, even with tweaking.
Just created this page, and a help page for removing the annoying text that has appeared over some navbars.
Problem with disappearing logos on remote sites and the navbar:
Fixed!
Dublin's Gemini Club: Their website vanished(!)
at the start of February. The Webring computer automatically suspended their
membership, enquires continue. They are now semi-aware of the problem. They
continue to operate (in Dublin) unhindered.
They may be contacted through
Sí.
BRAG's site has also vanished, though they have not replied, both of which are remote-machine failures, so they probably aren't aware of this yet.
The new alternative email address went down for about a day, mail may have bounced; this has now been fixed - please resend any bounced mail.
Adverts were removed from the Webring late on the 24th June, and these help pages on 26th June 2003AD.
A structure is being formulated to set up Webring accounts for prospective partners, with temporary email address, to quickly set up, then change email address of and and hand account password over to, once all debugged. This will be much more user-friendly and hassle-free.
Webrings adverts flicker on and off in 2005AD, due to minor problems with the Webring Host updating the control interface, and slight alterations to the TOS.
Some minor updates to this page, but overall update/revision will still be needed later.
Sent out most of the email versions; collecting bounces and blanks for Letter versions. Being mistaken for spam is a serious potential problem.
The posting of written follow-ups delayed, and delayed again, not for
writer's block this time, but because people tend to reply either immedjatly
or after a month. Letters following up email bounces and other failures will
not be subject to this delay.
There are also interesting minor problems, eg I can't enclose
SAEs to
overseas destinations as I can't buy Stamps for one country in another.
This is no longer a problem, as only UK destinations will be sought, and IRCs solve that problem anyway. Written invitations are back on the back burner, which is just as well, as all the stationary has had to change, with the new domain name.

While this table has been updated, it only serves to illustate that the whole concept of this webring and who it supports needs redoing. On the bright side, this information may help some people as a referenc table in it's own right.
